Subject: RE: Looking for Tek 11302 and 11301 docs From: "Hakan H" Date: Fri, 12 Oct 2007 23:58:08 +0200 To: Walter, The software is required to do adjustments on these scopes. You can't really do anything without it. It is a DOS program and it controls the scope via the serial port. There's one bug in the program that I got acknowledged by Beaverton but they didn't want to correct it. Two steps checking timing use 4.97 ms/div / 5 ms markers and 497 us/div / 500 us markers. The upper and lower limits where calculated from the time/div setting rather than from the markers which sometimes could produce an incorrect error. Attached is the software and a document describing the initial difference between an A and a non A. v3.1 F/W for non A's is essentially the same as for the A so most (all?) F/W related improvements are also now in the non A. I know for sure that the non A doesn't have pulse mode read out and video trig. There are also at least one annoying bug fix which had to do with the way some measurements were done. So if your F/W is below 3.1 I'd really recommend an update - it's only 8 EPROM's. I haven't compared but I believe you could do alright with the 11302A manual even for an 11301. Just skip the part which concerns the display. If need be I can scan these pages from the 11301A manual for you. Let's see how this works. If you really need the the complete adjustments procedure perhaps (say maybe) I might be able to make copies at work. I have an A manual coming, so perhaps between the software and A manual I can figure it out. I will have to check the FW rev level to be sure what's really there. I am not really clear as to what the real difference between the A and non-A version is. I would be happy to pay for copy cost and mailing to get a paper copy of the manual if you want to have it done. Thanks you very much for your help, as I am hoping to make this my main analog bench scope shortly. all the best, walter Walter Shawlee 2, President - Sphere Research Corporation 3394 Sunnyside Road, Kelowna, B.C., CANADA V1Z 2V4 URL: http://www.sphere.bc.ca E-Mail: walter2@sphere.bc.ca Phone: +1 (250) 769-1834 Fax: +1 (250) 769-4106 --Home of the Slide Rule Universe-- WS2: wishes were fishes, we'd all be covered in cod.
